Our new nanny, Val, started this week. We are really excited about finding her! She's in her
last year of school, majoring in early childhood special education, and has worked the past couple of years in a day care.
She's even worked some with kids getting PT and OT. And to top it all off, she's a friend of Eric's brother Greg and
we've known her for a few years now! So, no worries about not knowing the person well who will be spending so much time
with Ainsley. Ainsley's already really taking to her!
Feeding is always an adventure. Here's a great photo. Ainsley decided that her thumb tasted
much better than the peaches we were trying to feed her. So, we finally decided to just let her have her way.
The result obviously required a bath after dinner!

Thanks so much to everyone for your emails about the website. I'm glad to have had such a wonderful
response to sending the link out to you all. I especially thank those of you who said "Ainsley is absolutely beautiful",
and followed it up immediately with "she looks just like you, Jen!" :) But seriously, I hope that you all check
in often to keep up with Ainsley. And I'll do the best I can to keep the most recent pictures loaded!
Now on to the good news of the day. Today, Ainsley seems to be really making progress with her head
control and stability in her upper body. I can't remember another day that she has held her head this steady.
I am so hopeful that this is a sign of things to come! Typically, she will tilt her head backward to keep it steady,
rather than pulling her chin down and holding her head more truly upright. But, today she held it forward
more often than back, and even looked around while holding her chin down. She's always been a bit of a "bob
and weaver" up to now...
We've also been working a lot on her bearing weight on her arms to hold herself up while in a sitting position.
And today, although she wasn't completely upright, she sat while leaning on her arms, and didn't fall over for what seemed
like forever. And in reality was probably at least a minute! It was long enough to grab the camera anyway! Here's
the picture. It's not exactly sitting, but it's definitely progress! :)

AINSLEY LAUGHED, AINSLEY LAUGHED!!!!!! On Thursday, FINALLY, a few days before her 7-month birthday,
she gave us a giggle. And she did it more than once, so we're fairly certain she meant it! :) The first
time she laughed was at home for dad. She even decided to do it again a little later when he turned on the video camera,
so he caught it on tape!!! So, as soon as I figure out how to add a video link, I'll try to put it out here for everyone
to see and hear. I'll tell you, after waiting that long for a laugh, neither Eric or I had a dry eye.
On Saturday, when I was home to hear it, Ainsley laughed again. So, while it's still hit or
miss I've now heard it with my own ears! Of course, being in the room was way better than seeing it on video tape, so
I had to cry again! :)
Also this week, Eric also took Ainsley in for a weight check since she's still been spitting up quite a
bit with the reflux. Well, apparently no need to worry about her keeping enough down to gain weight, because she weighed
18lbs 2oz! What a little chubber she is, and we love it!
