April 17, 2005
This is Jen taking a turn updating the page, we've been not so great about keeping
the page up, so here's a couple months worth of updates all at once!
Immediately after the molars came Ainsley's eye teeth. She's finally
working on the last one now, and hopefully we'll have a break from the teething soon! Ainsley had a fun Easter,
we saw all the Grandparents and even Great Grandma Graeser! As you'll see from the pictures at Easter, Ainsley's hair
is still growing and growing, she's definitely inherited Eric's full, thick head of hair! Eric keeps threatening to
cut it, but Mommy's not quite ready for that yet. The curls are just too pretty!

Ainsley and Great Grandma Graeser |

Every day, Ainsley's doing better with reaching and grabbing. She's become an expert at feeding herself,
and is picking up even the slippery things with her thumb and forefinger (those peaches are a bear!) She's also recently
mastered drinking from a sippy cup! One of Ainsley’s favorite foods is
Mexican, she loves quesadillas and refried beans (those who were around during my pregnancy shouldn’t be surprised!) Here we were at our almost weekly El Nopal fix and she decided she’d try to
use her spoon, which is amazing since she had not had much success before or much interest since!

The first week of April, Ainsley had her sedated ABR hearing test (tests whether sounds are making it to the brain
for processing). After 3 attempts at a behavioral hearing test, at which the audiologists were unable to see reliable
responses, we finally did the ABR. It was extremely thorough, much more so than the newborn screen which was what I
thought it would be like. We're happy to report that she tested normal hearing
at all sound frequencies! We're still waiting for that first word to come out of Ainsley’s mouth, but she's babbling
more and more all the time, and recently has been using more consonants than ever (including M's, so I can hope what that
first word may be!)
